Send an External Link when there is no LMS launch
The course stays hosted in SCORM Dispatch. The learner opens a link instead of launching from a customer LMS.
External Link
What External Link is
External Link is for learners who are not launching the course from an LMS. You give them a link to the hosted course.
It uses the same hosted content and commercial controls as a dispatch into an LMS. It does not replace SCORM for customers who have an LMS.
A link, not a file hand-off
Copy the External Link and send it to the learner.
Course stays hosted
They launch the content in SCORM Dispatch. You keep the original files.
Same access controls
The link sits on a dispatch, so licence limits and expiry still apply.
When an LMS is not in play
Use External Link for that case. Use SCORM or LTI when the customer has an LMS.

Questions about External Link
Is this instead of SCORM?
No. Use External Link when the learner is not launching from an LMS. Use a SCORM dispatch when they are.
Does the learner download the course?
No. The link launches the hosted course.
Can I still set a licence limit?
Yes. The External Link is part of a dispatch, so limits and expiry still apply.
